Trusting God makes sense

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”

When we strive in life to accomplish things without God it is often hard and we can succumb to unwanted pressures. Learning to trust in Him with all our heart takes away the stress of everyday decision making. We know we have an ally, someone who is on our side, with us, and interested in our outcomes.

It’s not that God makes every decision for us. Rather, it means we can make decisions based on His will and Word, led by the Holy Spirit. We are going to Him first and allowing His influence and inspiration to impart wisdom to our decision making processes.

When we decide to acknowledge Him in everything, we are giving God permission to go before us and prepare the way as well as back us up in all situations.

He will not violate our will. If we resist God, we are denying Him access. Ultimately, when this life on Earth is done, we will come under His will anyway.

Eventually, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It is to our benefit to bow our knee and confess Him as Lord willingly. The sooner the better, so it is expedient for us to allow Him to break down every wall of resistance to His will in our lives, and let Him lead us through His Word and Spirit.

There is a promise in this passage in Proverbs which says that when we acknowledge God in all our ways He will direct our paths. Yielding ourselves to God’s will is seen by some people in the unsaved world as weakness, but, in fact, it is to our great advantage to humble ourselves under His mighty hand.

God resists the proud, but exalts the humble. Humility is acknowledging God and the truth of His Word. It is acting on His instruction and will in all things. This way our paths will be highlighted and we know that He will have laid out the perfect journey for us.

No more striving against God, then. Submitting ourselves to His will is a journey into His Rest. He will take us into the Secret Place of the Most High, where we will be guarded, kept and guided into all the truth.

Letting God into our lives makes sense.

Life & Light in the Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1-4

Jesus is the life and the light of all men. He is the Word, who is God.

He made all things. He lights all things. He is the life of all people. The connection between life and light in scripture is important to us.

When we come to the Word of God we are receiving light. David said that God’s Word was the lamp for his feet. In other words, it guided his life and direction.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalms 119:105

If we want understanding and direction we need to be constantly in the Word of God. We need illumination and wisdom in all things.

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
Psalms 119:130

God’s Word is living and powerful. It sees everything about us. Knows everything about us. When allow the Word to work in our lives it is not just information or knowledge, it has the dynamic of light an life to change us and equip us for life.

What we do…

BTPM Poster Woodford StationBible Text Publicity Mission is dedicated to presenting the gospel on posters in public places.

We have been a mission since 1922, when we first literally put the gospel in the sky with aerial sky messages. Since then we have developed a ministry which places the good news before the travelling public, especially on train station platforms in regular campaigns.

Our main aim is to encourage, comfort and edify travellers with a message of hope and verses from the Bible which they can take with them on their journey.
