3) Tell Him about your hopes as well as your fears.  Some people only ask God for help as a last resort.  That is probably rather weak and fairly useless.  Prayer is a conversation.  I try to talk with Jesus every day in prayer. I also try to listen to Him.  He speaks to us through God’s Book, the Bible.  I find He gives me practical advice today for a situation that will occur next week. He knows that. I don’t.  But being prepared helps me to face situations and to trust Him in them and through them.

     you need, and thank him for all he has done.7 Then you will  experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT).  Those who have tried this advice have found it to work.  I think of a Lady who was being hassled by her Bank Manager because her husband had left her, she hadn’t enough money to pay the mortgage and she couldn’t sell her bungalow because of subsidence.  She told me that she sat in the manger’s office knowing she should have been worrying herself sick. Instead she just felt an overwhelming sense of the Peace of God.  He seemed to be saying, “Don’t worry. I’ll sort it out for you.”  That was years ago and God did sort it all out wonderfully.
