Ken in Stockport year 2,000
From then on his name appears as attending every Council Meeting the Mission held.  Ken travelled to London four times a year from Stockport at his own expense for the period 1988 to 2006.  Correspondence from the early period of his association with us shows a great deal of letter writing by Ken to secure financial support for BTPM in the North. In the 1989/1990 Annual Report Ken’s name appears for the first time at the end of the list of officers as Northern Area Representative.  For a short time he was not regarded as an official member of the Council.   It is in the 1991/92 Report that he appears for the first time as a full council member.  The minutes of 18th January 1999 record the appointing of Ken as Chairman of the Mission.  At the same time Council Meetings moved to the Chaplain’s Office, Euston courtesy of Rev Miles Mitson.  He fulfilled his duties with diligence establishing  a working fellowship with Trevor Argent, who was then the Administrator.  Ken often went off for the day to check that our posters were actually being displayed.  If his wife Pat was going anywhere near a poster site she was asked to check a) that the poser was actually displayed and b) that it had not been defaced in any way.  On these journeys Ken liked to witness.

If he did not get a chance to tell people about his Lord on both the outward and inward journey Ken would be upset.  His happiest times were when he returned home with the names an addresses of people who had asked him to write to them.  Ken served as Chairman from 18th January 1999 to about 30th November 2006, when he resigned due to ill health.
